ATTAR (INDIAN): A perfume concentrate characteristic of a single flower or a mixture of flowers and / or other materials of plant or animal origin with sandalwood oil as the base. The fine quality of attars is made by traditional method - "Deag & Bhapkas" (copper pot ; Choga made of bamboo and Bhapka) which is a hydro distillation process. The skilled karigar (worker) who is called 'Diaghaa' knows by his experience and dedication when to give proper heat; maintaining proper boiling temperature of water in the Deag and to get the proper distillation of flowers and produce what is called Attar.
